You and your therapist will discuss which of these will be most beneficial for you.
ADDITIONAL OFFERINGS
Reflexology can be incorporated into a massage or be the main focus of a massage. Reflexology approaches the body as a whole with interrelated systems. The massage therapist uses their hands to apply alternating and firm pressure to stimulate physiological changes in the body. By activating the zone reflex points and meridian points, beneficial responses are created in the nervous, electrical and chemical systems. When your therapist slowly and intentionally applies pressure to points on your hands and/or feet, your whole body relaxes, allowing tension and pain to subside. Reflexology allows the body to relax by releasing tension and improving energy flow.
Thai Yoga massage is a form of massage that incorporates passive stretching along with traditional massage techniques. During a Thai Yoga massage the client is passive, the therapist moves the client’s body in various stretches while incorporating traditional massage techniques to attain greater flexibility and looseness for the client. The client is encouraged to communicate with the therapist throughout the massage concerning amount of pressure or length of stretch.
WHAT DO I DO
The most beneficial massage is the one where the body is able to fully relax.During your massage it is important that you communicate with your therapist in order to attain relaxation. Sometimes another warm blanket or a heat pack may help, or lighter or heavier pressure may be what is needed. If there is something that is not working, don’t hesitate to communicate. The therapist is vested in you having good results with your session.Whether Thai Yoga or traditional massage the patient responsibility is the same, relax, communicate when you need to, and enjoy your session.
